In July 2011, Dr. Stephen Morgan, recently retired president of the University of La Verne, joined the Bright Prospect Board of Directors.  Under his 25 year leadership, the University of La Verne grew its endowment from less than $1 million to $27.8 million and total assets from $27 million to more than $100 million. He was responsible for an annual budget of 118 million, a faculty and staff of nearly 600, and a student population of over 8,000. At Bright Prospect, Dr. Morgan will take on the role of Chairman of the Development Committee working closely with our new Director of Development and a other selected volunteers to being fundraising in our community and building awareness for Bright Prospect.  Dr. Morgan is very passionate about higher education. He earned his doctorate in Educational Management from the University of Northern Colorado, his Master of Science degree in Educational Administration from the University of Southern California, and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of La Verne. Morgan also serves on the Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center Board, the Los Angeles County Fair Association, and the Association of Independent Colleges & Universities. He was recognized as Educator of the Year by the San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership and was presented the Chief Executive Officer Leadership Award by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education’s District VII. The Bright Prospect team is excited to welcome his input during this time of growth.
