2011-12 High School Seniors

Over 300 students from 9 different high schools attended the Bright Prospect Crew Connect event on November 5th, 2011, at Pomona College’s Sontag Greek Theater.  The fun-filled day focused on the importance of building community through teambuilding activities.  The day started out with an icebreaker called Feeling Tall and Small, where students came out of their comfort zone by interviewing each other based on finding someone taller and smaller than them.  Shortly thereafter, the students broke out into a five cycle wave that captured the energy of the day – see the wave on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wb9mbvil254&feature=channel_video_title.  The day ended with a Crew reflection session which provided a platform for Crew members to bond with each other in a deep and meaningful way.  The day’s activities strengthened students’ sense  that they have a close peer group that supports and shares their goals, and that they are part of a larger community that will benefit as more of the youth earn college degrees.  A special thanks goes out to our Crew Leaders who helped organize this special day.
