Bright Prospect held the second session of the 8th annual Summer Academy at Harvey Mudd on August 5-9. There were a total of 150 high school sophomores from the Pomona Unified School District who attended the 4-day-event.

Just as in the previous session, the students participated in carefully designed workshops and activities that discussed the value of a college education, demystifying the costs of college and finding their college home and finally mapping their way to college graduation day. The week ended with the Young Men’s and Women’s Voices where students, interns and staff shared their life stories and bonded over their feelings and experiences. After this event, everyone headed over to Harvey Mudd’s Dinning Hall for the all-you-can-eat buffet, followed by one-on-one counseling with staff to go over a 4-year plan and the grand finale which was a motivational speech from long-time donor, producer/author/NCAA champion Andy Hill!
